POLICE DEPTT: EMPLOYEES COOPERATIVE HOUSING SOCIETY LTD.
ESTABLISHMENT
in 1970 for providing housing facilities to the police personnel particularly to low paid
employees who could not afford to have their own shelters due to low salary and limited
resources. It was registered with the Cooperative Societies Department, Govt. of Sindh,
vide No. K-637/1970.
PROCUREMENT OF LAND
Sindh and others it was decided to allot 100 acres of land to the Police Deptt:
Employees Co-operative Housing Society Ltd. and the IGP Sindh was requested to
approach to the KDA for allotment of land in some KDA Schemes. After a protracted
correspondence coupled with personal efforts of Mr. Muhammad Shareef Khan, IGP
West Pakistan (R), Govt. of Sindh, Board of Revenue, Hyderabad, allotted 40 acres of
land as against 100 acres as earlier proposed to the Society in Sector 45-A, KDA
Scheme # 33.
Within this piece of land, the Management could be able to accommodate only
521 applicants as almost half of the land was earmarked for residential purpose and the
remaining was to be utilised for Commercial and Amenities purposes.
The Board of Revenue, Govt. of Sindh, approved the Layout Plan of the Society in
1988. According to the Layout Plan, the Society was planned, designed and developed
by M/s. Al-Jadid Associates appointed by the Society. Later on, this Layout Plan was
endorsed / reapproved by the Malir Cantonment Board in 2007.

b) For Amenities purpose 40% (16 acres)
c) For Commercial purpose 05% (02 acres)

All the residential plots have since been allotted to the members through balloting
by the Managing Committee, from time to time during the period from 1989 to 2004.
Eight Commercial Plots were disposed of in 2013. The remaining Commercial and
Amenity Plots are intact and will be disposed off at appropriate time.
INTRERNAL DEVELOPMENT WORKS
under the supervision of architects according to the approved Layout Plan: –

2: Sewerage & Water Systems.
3: Electrification of entire Society.
4: Fresh Water Connections Pipelines
5: Underground Water Reservoir of 52 Thousand Gallons capacity.
6: Sewerage Lines
7: Boundary Walls constructed.
8: Construction of small Masjid e Aqsa to cater the needs of current residents.
9: Sui Gas Pipelines.
10: Park of the Society has been developed almost fully by the Residents Committee.
11. Computerisation of 50 years of record.
